Preventive Education for Children and Parents
Our office is focused on prevention. We understand that by educating parents and patients, we can achieve good oral health and proper development for the child.

Exams and Cleanings
The first dental exam is recommended during the child’s first year of life, followed by periodic exams every six months. During these visits, we conduct a comprehensive examination that not only checks for cavities but also evaluates the soft tissues, bite, and the child’s dental development according to their age. In some evaluations, X-rays may be necessary.

Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a mineral that strengthens enamel and protects it against cavities. Studies have shown that it can reverse early-stage tooth demineralization. Not all patients receive this treatment; it is optional if parents wish to have it done.

Sealants
Sealants are a layer of liquid resin applied to the molars to prevent food from getting trapped in the grooves of the teeth, reducing the risk of cavities.
Digital X-Rays
Our office uses digital X-rays to better diagnose dental issues. Digital X-rays use 80% less radiation than conventional X-rays. If you prefer that your child not receive X-rays, please inform our staff.

Anesthesia
Our office offers traditional anesthesia and, for apprehensive children, the STA machine.

Single Tooth Anesthesia Machine (STA)
This is a different approach from the conventional method of giving anesthesia to children. Using the STA, the tooth is numbed by placing the anesthesia in the ligament. This way, the child only feels pressure and no pain. Additionally, only the tooth is numbed, not the tongue or lips. This reduces the chance of the child injuring themselves due to a numb mouth.
Note: Our office does not offer general anesthesia.
Restorations
Our office provides all the necessary services to restore your child's dental health. We offer amalgam restorations or tooth-colored resin restorations. All treatments will be discussed with the parents before starting. Resin restorations typically require less preparation of the tooth, preserving more of the dental structure, but they also require greater patient cooperation.
Crowns and Nerve Treatment in Baby Teeth
Some teeth are severely affected and require a more invasive treatment, which involves removing part of the nerve. These teeth usually need to be restored with a stainless steel crown, as they are more prone to fracture. In the case of permanent teeth, they can sometimes be restored with a metal-free crown that matches the natural tooth color. If a nerve treatment is needed for a permanent tooth, a referral to a specialist (endodontist) will be made.

Extractions
We perform extractions of both primary and permanent teeth.

Laser Frenectomies
Some babies have breastfeeding issues, and some children have speech problems due to a restrictive lingual frenulum. For these cases, we use a soft tissue laser that removes the frenulum while simultaneously cauterizing, which minimizes bleeding and allows for a faster recovery.

Replacement of Missing or Prematurely Lost Teeth
Tooth loss can cause space issues for permanent teeth, self-esteem problems, and changes in phonetics in some cases.
Each case is different; some children need space maintainers, while others may require "kiddy partials" or false teeth to replace the missing ones, and in some cases, only observation is needed.
The replacement of teeth with fixed or removable bridges is considered when children lose their front teeth or when teeth are genetically missing.
Dental Development
Teeth have an ideal time to erupt; if that time passes and the tooth doesn’t emerge, it can cause serious problems in the development of the permanent dentition. In other cases, it will be necessary to create space to allow for the correct eruption of the teeth, especially when there are space issues. This is why regular evaluations are so important.

Craniofacial Development
In children, craniofacial development is influenced by oral and feeding habits, where breastfeeding, thumb or pacifier habits, mouth breathing, and feeding play a very important role. These factors can affect the growth of the face and dental occlusion. This is why an early evaluation can make a difference in the healthy development of the child.

Laser Photobio-modulation
LBM is a technique that uses low-intensity laser light to promote tissue healing in the oral cavity. It can be useful for treating dental ulcers, promoting healing, eliminating sensitivity, relieving pain, and more.

We use and recommend some devices that are essential in our dental practice.
